Our Mission:
Returning Dignity, Safety, and Stability to our Gullah Neighbors and Community through Home Restoration.
Preserving Homes. Honoring Heritage. Strengthening Community.
The St. Helena Gullah Community Housing Project, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving Gullah Geechee heritage by restoring and rehabilitating homes for families on St. Helena Island.
Our work is rooted in the belief that safe, healthy housing is essential to preserving culture, family legacy, and generational stability.
Rebuilding Our Community, One Home At A Time
Through housing rehabilitation, education, and community partnerships, we help longtime residents remain on their land, protect heirs' property, and pass down the rich Gullah traditions tied to home and place.
Each restored home tells a story-of resilience, faith, and the enduring spirit of the Gullah people.
